How do I care for my hand-dyed piece?
Please hand wash and line dry your piece before wearing it for the first time. This will release any residual dyes that may be lingering in the fabric. After this initial wash, you can either cold or warm machine wash with like colours. This will keep your colours looking fresh. Please avoid detergents with brightening enzymes, as these will fade your clothing prematurely. Because of the high cotton content, LINE DRY ONLY is recommended, to avoid shrinkage.
How safe are the dyes you use?
I use Procion Fibre Reactive dyes, which form a permanent bond with the natural cotton fibres of your garment. If your clothing gets wet, or if children put the clothing in their mouth, the dye will not release. These dyes are very secure within the fabric.
